The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 will serve as the gateway for admission to Undergraduate (BA LL.B) and Postgraduate (LL.M) law programs offered by 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) across India.
The Consortium of NLUs is expected to conduct the exam in offline (pen-and-paper) mode in December 2025.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 will be conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) for admission to Undergraduate (BA LL.B) and Postgraduate (LL.M) law programs across India.
It provides a single-window, merit-based admission process for 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) and several private universities.
CLAT 2026 will be conducted offline (pen-and-paper mode) with multiple-choice questions assessing aptitude in legal reasoning, logical thinking, and current affairs.

What is CLAT Entrance Exam?
The CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) for admission to Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) law programs such as B.A. LL.B and LL.M offered by participating National Law Universities across India.
It is one of the most prestigious and competitive law entrance exams in India, held annually for students seeking admission to top NLUs and other reputed law institutions for the upcoming academic session.

CLAT Cut-off 2025
The Consortium of NLUs will release the CLAT 2025 cut-off marks along with or soon after the result. The cut-off will be category-wise, showing the minimum marks or rank required for admission to participating NLUs.
Candidates can check their status on the official CLAT result portal. Those meeting the cut-off can join the counselling and seat allotment process.
Types of Cut-off:
Qualifying Cut-off: Minimum marks to be considered for counselling.
Admission Cut-off: Final rank or score required to secure a seat.

CLAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates aspiring to appear for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 must meet the eligibility conditions prescribed by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). The detailed eligibility criteria are as follows:
 UG (LL.B):
Passed/appearing in Class 12 (10+2).
Min marks: 45% (Gen/OBC) | 40% (SC/ST).
PG (LL.M):
LL.B degree from a recognized university.
Min marks: 50% (Gen/OBC) | 45% (SC/ST).
Age Limit: No upper age limit.
Nationality: Indian citizens; NRI/OCI/PIO/foreign nationals eligible per NLU rules.
